How to Re-key the Cylinder to a New Key

Step 1: Place Cylinder Into Learn Mode

Given: Operational Key (original key that operates the cylinder).

    1. Scroll to “Z-Wave Set Up” and press “OK”.
    2. Scroll to “Add Z-Wave Device” and press “OK”.
    3. Remove the cover on the keypad and insert the battery pack into the keypad, hold the keypad within 12 inches of the panel, press the top left white button.
    4. Hold the keypad within 12 inches of the Simon-XT panel for at least 60 seconds.
    5. The lock should now be learned into the Simon-XT panel.
Step 2: Learn a New Key

Given: New Key (desired key you want to operate the lock)

Given: Cylinder in the learn mode (keyway is horizontal)

    1. Rotate the cylinder plug slowly in the counterclockwise direction by at least 90° back to home (make sure not to pull or push the key when rotating the plug).
    2. Rotate the plug cylinder 90° again in the clockwise direction (learn position: keyway is horizontal).
    3. Try pulling out key (the key should not pull out)
    4. Key should not pull out – If key pulls out repeat steps 1: 3 through 7 and steps 2: 1 through 6.
    5. If key does not pull out, proceed to step 2:6.
    6. Turn the cylinder plug into the home position, (keyway is vertical) and remove key.
