ADC Image Sensor

    Cell Unit and Daughter Board

    1. ***The cell unit MUST be T-Mobile AND revision 146 or higher***
    2. Attach the daughter board to the cell unit (be sure the cell unit is NOT powered at this time)
      • Be careful, because once the daughter board is stuck to the cell unit with the double-sided tape, it’s very difficult to get it off again.
      • Connect the daughter board to the cell unit via the port connectors on each, and stick them together with the tape on the daughter board.
      • Punch out the corner panel on the XT back plate and extend the white daughter board antenna through it for proper RF communication.
    3. Insert the cell unit into the panel.
    4. Connect the blue HW-Out wire from the daughter board into the HW2-IN terminal on the Simon XT panel.
    5. Register cell unit by sending a successful comm test.
    Learning in the Image Sensor

    1. Begin with the batteries removed from the sensor.
    2. Enter “System Programming”.
    3. Scroll up to “Interactive Services”, press OK.
    4. Scroll down to “Image Sensor Setup”, press OK
    5. Scroll to “Learn Image Sensor”, press OK
      • The screen should display “Power up or reset I.S. now”.
    6. Insert the batteries into the sensor
    7. Wait (approximately 20 seconds) for the control panel screen to display “I.S. [x] Added as Sensor [y]”.
      • The red LED on the daughter board will turn solid when the sensor is learned.
    8. The sensor is now learned into the panel under zones 38 and 39.
      • Zone 38 is the Image Sensor itself, and is enrolled as a group 17 by default. You may change this to a group 20 if necessary.
      • Group 20 will make sure the Image Sensor delays before tripping an alarm, but the entry delay period will not be acknowledged by the panel or touch screen (no audible entry delay beeps or countdown).
      • Zone 39 is the HW2 zone for the image sensor, which enables local alarms and is enrolled as a group 15 by default. ***DO NOT CHANGE THIS***
    9. Send another comm test from the panel to upload the Image Sensor settings to Alarm.Com.
    Installing the Image Sensor

    1. Secure the mounting bracket to the wall (either the flat one or the cornered one, depending on the location you choose for the sensor).
    2. Slide the sensor off its back plate.
    3. Attach the mounting arm to the back plate of the image sensor.
      • Use one of the small screws that come with the sensor. Do not use the washer for this step!
      • Attach it with the teeth facing up for large rooms, or with the teeth facing down for smaller rooms (this changes the angle at which the motion points).
    4. Put the mounting arm on the mounting bracket at the angle the customer would like.
    5. Insert the locking pin, and secure it from the under-side with the other small screw AND the washer that come with the sensor.
    6. Slide the sensor onto its back plate.
